BeYOUtiful

12 04 2012

I know what you are thinking – I miss spelled beautiful. Well I did that on purpose. The misspelling of “beautiful” reminds of me the movie “Pursuit of Happyness” with Will Smith. I didn’t realize the word happiness was misspelled until main character Chris Gardner pointed it out during the movie. Chris was picking up his son, Christopher played by Will Smith’s son Jayden, at the daycare and he pointed out to the daycare provider she misspelled her “happiness” on her window. But anyway, let us move on with the blog topic. Ready…

What is the definition of beautiful? The three top definitions found on dictionary.com are as followed:

  1. Having beauty; having qualities that give great pleasure or satisfaction to see, hear, think about, etc.; delighting the senses or mind
  2. Excellent of its kind
  3. Wonderful; very pleasing or satisfying.

Being beautiful to me is no longer about people’s outer appearance but rather having the qualities that is pleasing and satisfying to us, our peers, friends, family, our community and most of all our God.  The concept of “BeYOUtiful” is basically having a life that pleases you and is pleasing to God. God wants you to your enjoy life, to grow in faith, to serve others and give Him praise on a daily basis. God doesn’t care how you do it, just as long you do it and that it’s according to His commandments.  The “YOU” in “BeYOUtiful” is a reminder that God wants you to live the life you deserve by embracing what makes you different and using it that brings joy and happiness in your life and through Him.

You were all made “BeYOUtifully”. We were all created differently and uniquely. All of use possesses something different in our skills and talents. We share different passions, interests, and hobbies that make our community unique. God calls to be different, to be salt of the world, to do great things without compromising who you are a person. So embrace you weirdness and be bold through Christ. He already finds you “BeYOUtiful”. Amen!!!

P.S. I would love to hear what makes you different and how you use it to share Christ or make this world better. Leave it as a comment below the blog. I look forward in reading all your comments. Aloha!!!
